Parker Learning Gardens connects community members with nature on our 33-acre educational farm. Through hands-on discovery and collaborative projects, students learn concepts like soil health, biodiverse ecosystems, and organic agriculture. Gardening awakens children’s wonder, awe, and creativity, revealing the interconnected life forms and natural processes that create our food. Participants in our gardening programs experience remarkable benefits like enhanced emotional well-being, food security, nutritional awareness, environmental stewardship, physical activity, social skills, and community connectedness. Additionally, caring for plants and animals fosters responsibility, a sense of accomplishment, and patience.
