Growing gardens & community: 2026-2027 access fund

We’re looking for community partners to support our programs and local families. Partners may include individuals, families, businesses, social groups and beyond!

Despite decreased grant funding to our non-profit, Parker Learning Gardens provided $20,425 in financial assistance to families & individuals in 2026 to make camps, classes, and workshops accessible. We launched our new monthly workshop series providing free & low cost education to community members of all ages & provided 25-100% scholarships to families who needed support, rather than setting specific income limits.

Non-profit funding has dropped by 40% globally, making community support more essential than ever to sustain local programs. In Oregon non-profit organizations have lost an average of 29% from their annual budgets, and 15% of non profits have lost more than 50% of their funding.

As our farm enters its fallow season of rest & rejuvenation, we need your help to keep our animals healthy, sustain our land, and ensure more families can participate in upcoming programs. We aren't just asking for donations—we are looking for community partners to help us expand our reach, expand our scholarship fund, and deepen our local impact. In a time of increasing costs and shrinking charitable contributions, we want to create a culture of abundance — one that nurtures & supports all community members from the microbes in our soil to the youth who discover themselves through outdoor exploration.

Where Your Partnership Goes:

  • Seed money for our 2027 scholarship fund — funding more families to participate and higher scholarship levels.

  • Support community members to participate in free skills-based workshops by covering materials, land & staffing costs.

  • Hands-on learning: Fund direct access for youth & adults to experience outdoor exploration, social connection, emotional regulation & farmsteading skills. Support our community of on-site volunteers learning what it takes to operate a non-profit farm.

  • Food access & security: Program participants receive fresh food in programs and to take home including plants to cultivate at home. Community members can purchase farmstand goods at the price that they can afford.

  • Winter care & stewardship: Support our animal farm workers who keep the land healthy and support farm maintenance & projects through winter.

Happy family hype: In their words…

“Thanks to Parker Learning Gardens Seeds of Success Scholarship program, I was able to have my nature loving boy participate in this enriching class this fall. An abrupt life shift put us in a bit of a financial pickle, but thanks to this scholarship opportunity, my son was able to join in on all the fun and knowledge this great team of people are offering youth!”

“Receiving a scholarship for Parker Learning Gardens has been such a meaningful gift for our family. The atmosphere on the farm is so warm and welcoming—we felt right at home from the moment we arrived.

My children have loved every minute of exploring the farm, enjoying the amazing activities, and picking up practical new skills that they are so proud of. We are beyond thankful for the generosity that opened this door for us, and we are forever supportive of the wonderful work this club does for kids and families.”

“Discussion time is one of my favorite moments. Being able to talk and vent to each other while the kids socialize is remarkably helpful to my mental health. We always enjoy exploring all the spots on the farm and learning about new plants. My kiddo is a HUGE fan of bringing plants and projects home. Every single one is still alive and/or on display, and she tells people how she did it.”
