Back by popular demand! Learn a nearly lost craft. Participants will make traditional hand-tied brooms using broom corn and locally sourced hazelwood handles.
You’ll learn:
Historic broom-making techniques
Binding and shaping for durability
The cultural history of functional fiber arts
Slow, rhythmic, deeply satisfying work.
As a focused craft, it is recommended that adult participants with young children have another support person present. Once you start your broom, you will need to continue without stopping for about 30-45 minutes.
